Second Sustainability Report: Chimiver’s Commitment Continues

Chimiver’s commitment to the environment, social responsibility, and corporate management remains unwavering. This year, the company has pursued its path achieving another significant milestone: the publication of the second Sustainability Report.

In 2023, Chimiver adopted the double materiality matrix as a key innovation. The topics identified as “material” by top management during the previous reporting phase were further examined and integrated. This process was driven by the relevance of these topics to our organization and the need for prioritized actions. The stakeholder engagement activity, which involved both internal and external stakeholders, played an essential role in this detailed analysis. The company encouraged stakeholders to update and integrate these topics based on their perspectives and the emerging dynamics of the year. This active engagement phase enriched the decision-making process, ensuring a deeper and more inclusive understanding of sustainability issues.

The ongoing dialogue with stakeholders helped create a more complete and up-to-date framework, promoting a flexible and adaptable approach to the evolving needs and expectations of our wide network of stakeholders. The double materiality matrix is the result of a targeted analytical process, allowing the company to identify the « material » aspects of sustainability that are most relevant both to the organization itself and to its stakeholders. The materiality matrix is a strategic tool for evaluating the alignment between stakeholder expectations and the strategic directions adopted by our organization. The analysis shows a clear alignment between stakeholder expectations and our business strategies.

Sustainability in Action: Achievements and Outlook

In 2023, Chimiver Panseri S.p.A. made significant steps toward more sustainable and innovative corporate management, solidifying its commitment to environmental respect and social responsibility.

Among the key achievements is the implementation and certification of UNI CEI EN ISO 50001:2018, which enables efficient energy management, reducing costs and optimizing resources. Two photovoltaic systems totaling 135.5 kWp were installed, allowing Chimiver to produce about 25% of the annual electricity consumed and releasing about 5% of the energy produced back to the grid.

Thanks to the collaboration and active involvement of our teams, Chimiver has significantly reduced CO2 emissions, a crucial milestone in the fight against climate change and the transition to a low-emission business model (ref. organizational carbon footprint study).

At the same time, processes aimed at reducing waste have been implemented, improving operational efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.

Regarding human capital, the following actions have been launched:

• Internal skills assessment to better align talent with the company’s strategic needs.
• Group coaching on sustainability topics for our managers, strengthening corporate culture and promoting leadership mindful of environmental and social challenges.

Looking ahead, Chimiver Panseri S.p.A. is determined to continue its journey. With the 2023 results as a solid foundation, we have already outlined a clear strategic vision to tackle future market challenges. Our future goals aim to strengthen our role as responsible leaders, expand our positive impact, and continue creating value for the company and our stakeholders. Among these objectives, we will focus on:

• Product EPD Certification for Adesiver Elastic and UNISIL adhesives;
• UNI EN ISO 45001:2018 certification « Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems »;
• Conducting an internal organizational climate survey;
• Employee stress assessment.
